Champs Elysees avenue in the world famous romantic and luxurious shops are concentrated, theaters and offices of major companies.

The Champs Elysees is without doubt the most famous streets of Paris. Stretching a mile and seventy yards wide, was born in the Place de la Concorde and reach the Place de l’Etoile, where stands the majestic Arc de Triomphe. From the Louvre, with its rectilinear succession can be seen in the Arc du Carrousel, Jardin des Tuileries, the Obelisk de la Concorde, the avenue leading to the Arc de Triomphe. This straight path is continued beyond to reach the Grande Arche de la Defense.
The eastern part is bordered by green spaces, the Plaza Marigny, and important buildings such as the Petit Palais and Grand Palais, off the Pont Alexandre III. Both palaces, facing each other and separated by Churchill Avenue, were built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
The Petit Palais, with a facade of 150 meters and organized around a semicircular garden is from 1902 “Palace of Fine Arts in the city of Paris” and houses permanent and temporary collections.
The Grand Palais, a vast space dedicated to art exhibitions and cultural events of importance, has a huge glass domes and covers an area of 13500 square meters. It houses the Palais de la Decouverte, created for the Universal Exhibition of 1937, despite the creation of the City of Sciences de la Villette has not lost its role of science and technology museum.
In the westernmost part of the avenue are movie theaters and shows, including the famous Lido cabaret, luxurious shops, the Champs Elysees Theatre, restaurants and hotels of category and headquarters of major international companies.
Prestigious and luxurious, the Champs Elysees is, therefore, very expensive, with prices that are among the highest in the world. Few individuals residing in the area and buildings are usually set up offices. For maintenance and beautification of the avenue, and to preserve the prestige of the Champs Elysees, a committee was formed, which may even decide to install or not a certain company or business. However, the arrival of the metro and RER from the suburbs and all points of the city and therefore this area, which was frequented almost exclusively by a select clientele, made the avenue “popularized” and appear cheaper shops and fast food establishments.
The Champs Elysees is popular scene of important events such as the military parade on July 14, day of the National Party, as well as traditional place of arrival of the last stage of the Tour de France. The avenue is adorned in December preparing for Christmas celebrations and becomes pedestrian night December 31 to receive the new year.
